THE GOSPEL OF LUKE:
WAITING ON THE LORD

Luke 12:35-48

Stay awake!

The return of Christ is a very practical doctrine, because we all base our lives on what we think the future will hold. In this passage Jesus teaches us about the future so that it can shape our present: he tells us what his return will be like, he tells us about the timing of his return, and he tells us how we should live in the meantime.

APPLICATION QUESTIONS

1. How often do you think about the return of Christ? When you do, what exactly are you thinking about?

2. Do you resonate with the idea of being spiritually sleepy? How have you experienced that?

3. How can you practically stay awake and ready in your life now?

Weekly Announcements

Two-Service Summers
June 21st - August 16th

With many of our college students away for the summer, attendance at our 8:00am service becomes much lighter. To help reduce the volunteer needs during this season, we'll be moving to a two-service schedule for the summer and returning to three services in August.

Our last 8:00am service of the summer was today. We look forward to worshiping together starting next Sunday at 9:45am and 11:30am!

Summer Seminar: Navigating Loneliness in the City (Joon Kang)
TODAY, 1:30pm - 3:00pm, Leonard Chapel

We all long to be fully known and fully loved, yet many of us experience seasons of loneliness, even in a city as large as Los Angeles. This seminar will explore what the Bible says about loneliness and offer practical encouragement for pursuing meaningful connection.  We hope you'll join us today!
Book Discussion: "The Gospel of Caiaphas" (Nicole Austin)
June 28th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm, Welcome Center
Join us for a discussion of “The Gospel of Caiaphas” by Nicole Austin. This novel reimagines the story of Jesus through the eyes of the high priest Caiaphas, offering a compelling glimpse into first-century Jerusalem while remaining grounded in the biblical narrative. Registration is open, and the book is available on Amazon and at local bookstores.

Get Involved with Cornerstone Kids Camp!
June 22nd - 26th

We're still looking for a few adult volunteers to serve during camp, which runs Monday through Friday in the mornings only. If you have a flexible schedule, we'd love to have you join us! It's a unique opportunity to share the love of Christ with children from our city and be part of a fun and impactful week! If you're interested, please talk to a pastor or Jeremy at the kids check-in table after service.
