THE GOSPEL OF LUKE:
THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP

Luke 14:25-35

Sometimes Jesus' words are harsh. But they're healthy.

The cost of discipleship is high, and Jesus uses harsh language to communicate it. But underneath the harsh words, we find healthy reminders of the supremacy of Christ and our souls' deepest desires being met in him and his kingdom.

APPLICATION QUESTIONS

1. Do Jesus' words about hating your loved ones offend you?

2. How often do you consider Jesus' call to bear your own cross in following him?

3. What things are holding or threatening to hold too high a place in your life?

4. In what ways can your walk with God be more salty?

Summer Seminar: Financial Wisdom in West LA (Mark Gong)
July 26th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm, Welcome Center
Next Sunday we'll have our next Summer Seminar on Financial Wisdom in WLA led  by Mark Gong. Whether you are thriving or struggling financially, we hope you'll join us for this seminar where we will learn both practical and biblically based ways to navigate money as a Christian, and move toward becoming a cheerful giver. That will be at 1:30pm in the Welcome Center.

Summer Seminar: Finding Home in Los Angeles (Dillards)
August 9th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm, Welcome Center

In an expensive, transient city riddled with challenges, how can you put down roots and find home? Should you even try? Once you give LA a shot, wouldn’t it make more sense to settle down where it’s easier? In this seminar, we will see how God’s word informs our experience of home. When we trade our expectations for his plan for us, we'll see that finding home in LA is not only possible, but worth it.

Welcome to the World!
