THE GOSPEL OF LUKE: A NEW KINGDOM
Fruit Trees & Foundations
Luke 6:43-49
The Christian life consists of believing what Jesus has said and doing what he has said.
The Sermon on the Mount concludes with two illustrations that expose the depth of our problems and give us unfathomable hope. When we are confronted with the darkness of our own hearts, Jesus calls us to come to him and hear his words of grace and comfort. In doing so he gives us hope and transforms our entire lives.
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. Do you consider the bad things you do "evil"? Why or why not?
2. When confronted with the darkness of your own heart, what are the words of God you need to remember?
3. What instructions from the Sermon on the Mount do you struggle to follow and how is God calling you to respond to the sermons over the past four weeks?
4. How would your life look different if you truly believed Jesus was actually serious about everything he taught in the Sermon on the Mount?

Weekly Announcements
Picnic After Church
TODAY, 1:00pm, Greenspace
We’ll be doing a bring-your-own picnic lunch after church. So stick around after the second service, or come back and enjoy time together with your family and church family!
Summer Seminar: Christianity & Science
July 27th, 1:00pm, Welcome Center
Science seeks to understand how the natural world works. But many feel that Christianity and science are sometimes at odds, so that to affirm one is to deny the other. Is the Christian worldview contrary to science? How should Christians think of science? How can science interact with our faith?
This seminar will discuss the scope of science, how Christianity and science relate, and how science -- by considering the work of His fingers and revealing the elegant mechanics of His meticulous creation -- gives glory to God.
Registration is now open!
Summer Community Events
