THE GOSPEL OF LUKE:
INSIDE AND OUTSIDE
Luke 11:37-54
Jesus brings us transformation from the inside out—so that we can live in forgiveness, selflessness, humility, wisdom, and depth.
Jesus is invited to a Pharisee's home for a meal and doesn't follow all of the rituals they follow. He uses this as an opportunity to outline the difference between external religion and internal heart transformation. The hope of the gospel runs deeper into our souls than any behavior modification ever can.
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. What are ways that your walk with Christ is too shallow, aiming to change external behaviors rather than the heart?
2. How does a life aimed from the inside out bring wisdom?
3. What kind of humility results from the gospel touching down in the depths of your heart?
4. How do pride and insecurity feed each other? And how does the gospel free you?
5. Are you seeking your own glory or Christ's?

Weekly Announcements
Holy Week and Easter 2026
Invite Friends: Easter is not only a time of great celebration, it’s also a time of piqued interest and curiosity. Please pick up a few postcards on Sunday (or click here for a digital download in English or Spanish) and invite friends, co-workers, or neighbors to our Easter Services!
Help With Brunch: Cornerstone member Christina Dillard and her family are helping to organize an Easter brunch that will span our three services. We'd love to have help getting everything ready! On the afternoon of Good Friday, there will be an opportunity to shop and load in at the church. On Saturday, we'll be prepping food starting at 10am, as well as getting the gym ready for guests. On Easter Sunday, we'd love help serving food and tearing down after the last service. This is a great opportunity for your DC group or your household to pitch in, either by physically helping or by "sponsoring" some menu items. For more details and to express interest, please email Christina at hichristinadillard@gmail.com.
Pray: God invites his people near. And we commune with him in unique ways when we gather together in prayer. Join us Thursday mornings from 7-8am in the Sanctuary during Lent as we prepare for Easter by drawing close to God and interceding for our city.
Exploring Christianity: Dinner & Conversation
Starting Sunday, April 12th, 6-8pm
Exploring Christianity is a series of weekly dinners (April 12th, 19th, 26th & May 3rd) where people of all backgrounds can gather to enjoy free food, meet new friends, and have meaningful conversations about faith. We'll gather on Sunday evenings from 6-8pm starting April 12th and continue for four weeks. Each week we will explore a main pillar of the Christian faith. We encourage church members to invite friends and join as well. Pick up a postcard on Sunday, or share a digital version here! If you’re exploring for the first time, rethinking, or are just plain curious, Exploring Christianity is for you. Please sign up at https://tinyurl.com/exploring-christianity-cwla. Questions?
