The Upside Down Kingdom
Luke 6:12-26
SUMMARY
Jesus' kingdom runs counter to our instincts, but leads to a flourishing life we can find nowhere else
Jesus introduces a revolutionary kingdom in Luke chapter 6. He appoints leaders and preaches a sermon outlining his kingdom program, starting with a value system laid out in the "beatitudes." These blessings and woes run against our natural instincts and the values of our world. Yet they line up with reality in deep ways, leading us to a far richer life now and into eternity.

Weekly Announcements
Summer Seminar: How to Sing a Worship Song
TODAY, 1:00pm, Sanctuary
We arrive at church expecting to sing—but do we stop to consider how we sing, why we sing, or what it really means to worship through music?
In this behind-the-scenes seminar led by Andy Wilson, we’ll walk through the full process of preparing a worship song—from choosing a song and evaluating its theology to rehearsing the band and shaping the Sunday experience. This class isn’t just for musicians—it’s for anyone who wants to engage more deeply in worship. Together, we’ll explore how small, practical shifts can lead to a more mindful and wholehearted response to God.
Summer Seminar: Understanding Disability and the Church
July 13th, 1:00pm, Welcome Center
In this seminar, Mike Hendrickson will first survey what the Bible teaches about disability, and then look together at the history of the Church’s view of and response to disability. Along the way, we will discuss what we can learn from history and how we at Cornerstone can come alongside and empower those affected by disability with the Gospel.
