THE GOSPEL OF LUKE:
WHAT IS THE KINGDOM LIKE?
Luke 13:18-35
God's kingdom is surprising and all-satisfying
Jesus begins his ministry saying he is bringing the kingdom of God. In this passage, he tells us more about it. Jesus compares the kingdom to seeds and leaven, things that do not look impressive but eventually produce powerful effects. Entering the kingdom means going through a narrow door—so narrow that you can carry nothing with you, not even your own righteousness. Only through Jesus Christ himself will you find yourself in the kingdom of God, eating at his table and enjoying his own fellowship.
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. The way God works in the world—and in our lives—is often overlooked, but has powerful effects. Have you ever experienced that in your own life?
2. How are you tempted to use your moral performance or religious activities as ways of getting "in with God?
3. What are you tempted to hold on to that won't fit through the narrow door of following Jesus?
4. How does the love of God in Jesus Christ encourage you to put those temptations aside and pursue life with God as king?

Every Sunday we hear that God loves a cheerful giver, but cheerful may be the last word that comes to mind when it comes to our finances. Often our financial situations make even surviving the city difficult, let alone giving! Whether you are rich or poor, join us for this seminar where we will learn both practical and biblically based ways to navigate money as a Christian, and move toward becoming a cheerful giver.

Cornerstone will be hosting Christian Legal Aid who provide free legal clinics. This is an organization who believes in providing access to basic legal services is a powerful way to love our neighbors.
1. If you or anyone you know is in a situation where they need but can't afford legal aid, please have them register for the free clinic here.
