What makes a good Bible translation, and how can one tell the difference?

Without a doubt, we have been blessed with the great variety of translations of the Word of God into English. However, this also presents unique challenges. How should we approach the many translations available to us and how in the world did we end up with so many? What makes a good translation, and how can one tell the difference? How can I trust that what I am reading is an accurate reflection of what the Word of God actually says?

This seminar provided a foundation for understanding the role and function of Bible translations for both the church and the individual.
