When Jesus appears, we find that the God we are expecting is also very much a man. God has identified with us, to the point of becoming one of us. And this is only the start of the new beginning God brings! Soon we see all three members of the Trinity together, ready to create like they did in Genesis. But this time they have broken into our world, and Jesus will be our new representative. He will go to the cross for our sins, so that we can be a part of the new beginning God brings.

Application Questions

1. What difference does the Trinity make? How does the Trinity help us understand what our world was created to be like?

2. When the Father says “You are my beloved Son, with You I am well pleased,” what do we learn about Jesus’ identity and purpose?

3. How does Jesus make us a part of a new beginning?

4. Has this new beginning affected your life? How should a relationship with a triune God affect our lifestyle and relationships here on earth?
