“Mission doesn't start as an activity, it starts as an identity.”

March 11, 2018

Mission isn't just something we do, it is part of our identity.  In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul explains that Christians are ambassadors who connect the God they love with the people around them.  This identity shapes how we approach our city, how we organize our lives, and how we share the gospel with others.

Application Questions

  1. Think about the things that take up your time in a typical week.  Do some of those activities suggest that you think of yourself as an ambassador for Christ?
  2. Do you live in Los Angeles more like a tourist or an ambassador?
  3. When do you struggle to remember that you are a citizen of heaven?  When do you struggle to engage people where you live now?
  4. As you grow into a better ambassador, what do you think is your next step?
