Cornerstone exists because of Jesus. We are a people who have been transformed by the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God has forgiven us and adopted us into his family. Now, we have a whole new life.
Through the gospel, God redeems us, forgives us, and adopts us into his family. The good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection makes each one of us a new creation and gives us a new identity: children of God. This is why we can never think of the church as an organization or a building. The church is actually a family—God’s family, filled with redeemed sinners that are now his children.
Through the gospel, God forgives us, adopts us into his family, and makes us his disciples. This means that the church is not just any family. We are a family formed by God—and sent out with a purpose.
The church is a family that ministers to one another, cares for one another, and builds one another up. Each member of the family is a child of God who is uniquely gifted to bless the family and to be a light in our city.
Just like a vine grows best with a good trellis, our church family grows best with good programs. Our programs and ministries are tailored to support the community and mission God has given us.
“Moving through necessary justice towards a spirit of compassion, mercy and forgiveness, even for the most vile of perpetrators, is what allows us...to display the scandalous, beautiful, life-changing power of the Gospel.”
“In any situation, the Christian response is love.”
“He who is forgiven much loves much, and so when we focus in on the sufferings of Jesus, we see how costly it was for Jesus to forgive our sins, and we find our love growing and growing because of his payment.”
“While we still wait for the new garden, the new city, the new heavens and the new earth, we are not waiting alone. God’s Holy Spirit has made our souls alive. He has breathed over us and remade us, so that now we are born again.”
“God’s call isn’t to be exclusively pro-child or pro-woman. Both the prenatal child and her mother were created in the image of God.”
“Jesus brings you a pathway from failure to joy.”
“You sent your eternally perfect Son to save us, the fatally imperfect. You are so much more loving than we are, more loving than we can even pretend to be.”
It is clear from all of these rules and regulations and sacrifices that mankind is utterly, and desperately needy for God, His atonement, forgiveness, and purification.
"Every child is a blessing, even the ones that are difficult to love."
"Instead of seeing dichotomies— pro-woman or pro-baby, pro-choice or pro-life—we can see a truly difficult situation with hope. Real hope. Lasting hope. For we know that God found us when we were lost and confused and gave us love and purpose and life."
