“God promises to redeem every tragedy you experience by using it for your ultimate good, and his ultimate glory.”

September 29, 2019

When tragedy strikes we’re conditioned to assume that we’ll have to go through the grieving process. Our culture hands us a list of “stages” that grief can take, but even following these steps to a tee often leaves us discouraged and depressed. But God gives us a different chain of events that happen for the Christian. It’s one that begins in the devastation of suffering, but always ends in hope.

Application Questions

  1. How have you seen suffering produce endurance in your life?
  2. How have you seen endurance come to increasingly define who you are in Christ over the course of your life?
  3. How have you seen God’s transformation of you produce hope in your heart?
  4. What are the situations in your life where you are currently suffering and needing to endure? How can you have joy in the midst of them?
