Cornerstone exists because of Jesus. We are a people who have been transformed by the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God has forgiven us and adopted us into his family. Now, we have a whole new life.
Through the gospel, God redeems us, forgives us, and adopts us into his family. The good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection makes each one of us a new creation and gives us a new identity: children of God. This is why we can never think of the church as an organization or a building. The church is actually a family—God’s family, filled with redeemed sinners that are now his children.
Through the gospel, God forgives us, adopts us into his family, and makes us his disciples. This means that the church is not just any family. We are a family formed by God—and sent out with a purpose.
The church is a family that ministers to one another, cares for one another, and builds one another up. Each member of the family is a child of God who is uniquely gifted to bless the family and to be a light in our city.
Just like a vine grows best with a good trellis, our church family grows best with good programs. Our programs and ministries are tailored to support the community and mission God has given us.
"Any sexual sin in your life is often about much deeper desires. Focusing on the heart, by the power of the Holy Spirit, produces the kind of change that goes all the way down."
“The act of sexual immorality is the tip of the iceberg of our sin. And to properly deal with it, we have to aim deep. We’ll look at three levels of sexual immorality in the fight against pornography.”
“The Bible is clear that sexuality is not just good, but also sacred.”
“We have to take our blinders off. We have to see pornography for what it is: devastating, painful, and sinful.”
“When those ministering to Same Sex Attraction strugglers treat SSA as the defining issue in their life—making it the focal point of all counseling and discipleship—they are simply affirming the world’s message that this struggle defines their identity.”
The gospel leads us to walk in self-giving love and shine a winsome light in the world.
The world completely misunderstands sex, but it can't stop talking about it. When the church stays silent, many of us end up significantly misinformed about what sex is, what it is for, why God created it, and how we should think of it.
"Sex can bring us immense pleasure, and we are often tempted to misuse it and forgo God’s exhortations."
"It is into this fallen world that God whispers the reminder: “Sex is not about “you”…it is about ME."
"We want to talk about sex for one simple reason: sex glorifies God. In fact, God created sex, and everything about it, to glorify himself. He created it to teach us about him and to show us, in a unique way, his beauty and his majesty. "
