“The gospel frees us to enjoy and share everything God has given to us.”

May 27, 2018

Our callings aren’t just about what we do, they also include what we have. And that means God cares about our money, possessions, and even our time. In 2 Corinthians, Paul shows us how the gospel can keep us from turning our stuff into an idol or an inconvenience. This freedom in Jesus lets us both enjoy and share the things God gives us in radical ways.

Application Questions

  1. Do you treat your possessions as things God has given you to enjoy and to share? If not, how do you treat them?
  2. Do you tend to idolize your stuff or view your stuff as an inconvenience? How does that affect your ability to enjoy and share your possessions?
  3. What about the gospel allows frees you to have a different relationship with your stuff?
  4. What would change practically if you viewed your possessions as a calling from God to enjoy and to share?
