Pastor Elders
Our pastors provide leadership, direction, and care for the church body by teaching from the Bible, praying for the members, and making sure every member is lovingly guided towards spiritual growth. All of our pastors serve the church by teaching, preaching, counseling, and discipling. Each pastor also has specific areas in which their gifts are used to serve the body.
Jim Leonard

Jim loves the opportunity to connect people to Jesus Christ, as well as enabling Christians to find new and excellent ways of living out their relationship with God. He is married to Karen and they have one teen-age son, Steven. Jim serves Cornerstone through pastoral care and by overseeing internal ministries and administration.
Scott Mehl

Scott is the husband of one (Lara) and father of three (Harper, Addison, and Lincoln). His passion for the lost and for God’s work in and through the local church brought him to West LA in 2005, and that same passion has allowed the city to truly become his family’s earthly home. Scott serves the church by overseeing leadership development, global ministries, and counseling/discipleship.
Steve Campbell

Steve is a native Californian who grew up in Culver City, studied at UCLA, served in the US Navy, and another 30 years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Heavily engaged in Hispanic ministries, Steve and his wife Ester have been actively involved with Mexico Inland Missions having spent 15 years leading building projects, medical clinics, and preaching the Gospel to the people of Mexico. Steve currently serves the church as a teacher and Elder.
Brian Colmery

Brian moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to attend UCLA. After meeting Scott in seminary, the two planted Shoreline Church in the fall of 2005. Over the next five years Brian married the love of his life, Chrissie, had a daughter, Quinn, and Cornerstone WLA was born. Brian serves the church by overseeing preaching and Sunday morning services at Cornerstone.
Matt Kleinhans

Matt is married to his high school sweetheart, Nicole. They both moved to Los Angeles for college, and there got plugged into Shoreline Church. Having a heart for the local church and West LA, Matt and Nicole began putting down roots. Matt and Nicole have two kids: Owen and Zoe, and live in Mar Vista. Matt serves Cornerstone by overseeing Family Ministries.
Servant Minister Deacons
Our servant ministers provide encouragement, care, and guidance to our members by serving them in all kinds of ways. The roles of servant-ministers are diverse and include (but are not limited to) leading a community group, teaching our children on Sunday mornings, leading music on Sunday mornings, or counseling those in need. At Cornerstone, servant ministers are a way to recognize those that are doing the work of mutual personal ministry.
