Cornerstone exists because of Jesus. We'd love to show you how your story matters to him, and how his story matters for you.
The church isn't an organization or a building. The church is a family—God’s family, filled with redeemed sinners that are now his children because of Jesus.
Just like a vine grows best with a good trellis, our church family grows best with good programs. Our programs and ministries are tailored to support the community and mission God has given us.
Class
Pastor Scott Mehl oversees the church’s discipleship and counseling ministry and has earned a doctorate in Biblical Counseling. His material is developed from both years of biblical study and years of personal experience discipling and counseling regularly in the church.
This class is meant to equip the believer with a practical framework that will help them to disciple and counsel those around them. Seeing that every Christian is called to love one another, and manifest that love in tangible ways, this class helps to clarify and summarize the “one-anothers” that are found throughout the New Testament. To this end, the class equips the student with skills to learn about people and get to know who they are and what is going on in their heart. It also provides some guidance into how the believer ought to serve and speak to others as they seek to manifest the love that they have been given by Christ. Finally, the class focuses on how to specifically apply the principles discussed in “How People Change” so that they may lovingly, gently, and confidently apply the hope of the gospel to the myriad of situations they find those around them in.
The class is a weekly blend of lecture and discussion. Some reading is required in order to supplement what is being learned in class.
